what is it that makes us human?
some say that we are the superior species
because of our intellect
does that mean that artificial intelligence will
replace us?
or is it, like the romantics believed;
our emotions that emphasise our humanity?
looking at the world today
with global warming and wars,
deep fakes and weakened democracies
it’s hard to see man as rational
we are animals, after all
maybe technology will save us then?
enhance sustainability and simplify labour
make rational decisions
when our soft hearts or fragile egos come in
the way?
if robots take our jobs
maybe we can spend more time in nature
and with art
change is always scary
AI can write essays on university level
and steal art from hard-working artists
but maybe
just maybe
the future can be balanced
between metal and heart
